GIS Trainer Department: Department of Space Studies Location: Janakpuri, New Delhi Employment Type: Full-time Onsite Job Summary We are looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable GIS Trainer to deliver high-quality training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, and emerging geospatial technologies. The role involves teaching students, developing industry-aligned curriculum, and supporting hands-on projects in GIS, GeoAI and satellite data applications. Key Responsibilities Deliver training sessions on GIS concepts, tools and applications (beginner to advanced levels) Teach software such as ArcGIS Pro, QGIS and web GIS platforms Design and update curriculum aligned with industry standards and certifications Conduct practical sessions, workshops and lab-based training Guide students on live projects, internships and case studies Introduce learners to emerging areas like: GeoAI Remote Sensing & Satellite Data Analytics Spatial Data Science Develop training materials, assignments and assessments Evaluate student performance and provide mentorship Coordinate with industry experts for guest lectures and collaborations Support placement readiness through skill-building and project portfolios Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in: Geography / Geoinformatics (Preferred) Diploma / Certificate course in GIS and Geo-spatial analysis.

Diploma / Certificate course in GIS / Remote Sensing Environmental Science / Urban Planning or related field Hands on experience of five years in teaching GIS Required Skills Technical Skills Strong command over GIS tools: ArcGIS Pro QGIS Knowledge of Remote Sensing and satellite imagery analysis Understanding of spatial data formats and coordinate systems Basic knowledge of Python for GIS (preferred) Familiarity with web GIS, dashboards, and mapping tools Teaching & Professional Skills Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to simplify complex geospatial concepts Hands-on, practical teaching approach Curriculum development and training delivery experience Student mentoring and engagement skills Preferred Qualifications Prior experience as a trainer / faculty / instructor Exposure to GeoAI, drone mapping or smart city projects Certifications in GIS (e.g., Esri Technical Certification) Experience working on real-world GIS projects (government/industry) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Student learning outcomes and feedback Quality of projects and practical exposure Industry alignment of training programs
