Technical Manager Cheshire Competitive Salary & Benefits Permanent, Full Time We are working with an established manufacturer who supply high-quality components into the Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and General Engineering sectors. We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join its leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven engineering professional to lead technical operations, support continuous improvement initiatives, and drive New Product Introduction (NPI) activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment .The Technical Manager, you will lead the technical engineering team and take responsibility for all technical aspects of the manufacturing processes, including Wax, Shell, Foundry, and Finishing operations.
You will play a key role in driving process improvements, managing tooling projects, supporting new product development, and ensuring products are manufactured in line with customer specifications and quality requirements . Technical Manage r Job Descripti onLead and manage the Technical Engineering tea m.Provide technical guidance and support across all department s.Manage technical aspects & operation s.Oversee tooling design, procurement, modification, and implementatio n.Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept through to productio n.Manage tooling projects to ensure timely delivery and successful implementatio n.Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce cost s.Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and waste reductio n.Conduct Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and implement corrective measure s.Produce and analyse scrap and rework reports, identifying trends and improvement opportunitie s.Ensure production processes comply with customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirement s.Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Commercial, and Sales teams to resolve technical issue s.Ensure all routings (PFEP) and process documentation are accurate and maintaine d.Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for improvemen t.Investigate non-conforming products and support corrective action implementatio n.Prepare and present monthly performance and technical report s.Promote and maintain compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedure s.Coach, mentor, and develop team members to support business objective s. Technical Mana ger Experience & Qualifica tionHND, HNC, Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related discipl ine.Previous experience in a Technical Manager, Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, or similar leadership r ole.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes within a technical engineering environm ent.Experience managing engineering projects and New Product Introduction (NPI) activit ies.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requireme nts.Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis ski lls.Strong communication and stakeholder management abilit ies.Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop te ams.Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadli nes.Good IT and reporting ski lls.Knowledge of investment casting processes would be highly advantage ous.
