Senior Electronics Engineer - LED Lighting (Relo to Chicago Available)

Job Description Job Description Senior Electrical Engineer opportunity with a well-established premium lighting manufacturer in the Chicago, IL area. This on-site role is ideal for a hands-on power electronics engineer with 4+ years of LED driver design experience, particularly with dimmable driver circuits. This role leads the design, development, and qualification of LED drivers and power supplies across a broad decorative, architectural, and controls product portfolio, while mentoring junior engineers and guiding OEM suppliers through new product development.

Must have deep expertise in dimmable driver design and a strong understanding of phase cut dimming challenges. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of hands-on LED driver and dimmable circuit design experience Strong working knowledge of Buck, Boost, Flyback, and LLC topologies Experience in phase cut dimming, deep dimming to sub-1% levels, and flicker mitigation Ability to qualify off-the-shelf power supplies against parameters including THD, power factor, efficiency, ripple, and dimmer compatibility Familiarity with lighting control protocols such as 0-10V, DALI, and DMX Proficiency with simulation tools like LTspice or PSpice and standard lab equipment including oscilloscopes, power meters, and electronic loads Must be able to work on-site in the Chicago, IL metro area
