Senior Analyst / Associate – Sustainability & Energy Transition Investment Banking Key Information Boston, MA $Competitive Permanent Jason Fontanarosa A leading global investment banking platform is seeking a Senior Analyst or Associate to join its Sustainability & Energy Transition team in Boston. The group advises innovative and high-growth companies, infrastructure investors, private equity sponsors, and strategic clients across the broader sustainability ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on M&A advisory and growth-oriented strategic transactions. The team is highly active across renewable energy, energy transition infrastructure, climate technology, sustainable industrials, environmental services, and adjacent sectors.

This role offers significant exposure to complex, high-profile transactions within a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Support execution of live M&A, strategic advisory, and capital raising transactions across sustainability and energy transition verticals. Develop and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses, merger models, operating models, and transaction materials.

Prepare client presentations, marketing materials, management presentations, and board-level analyses. Conduct industry and company research across renewable energy, climate technology, sustainable infrastructure, and related sectors. Coordinate and manage due diligence processes with clients, counterparties, legal advisors, and internal teams.

Work closely with senior bankers on business development initiatives and client relationship management. Mentor junior team members and contribute to overall team development. Requirements 2–4 years of investment banking experience at a reputable investment bank or advisory firm.

Proven experience executing closed M&A transactions. Direct experience in sustainability, renewables, power & utilities, infrastructure, industrial technology, environmental services, or adjacent sectors strongly preferred. Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skillset.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple workstreams and perform under tight timelines. Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of initiative and attention to detail.
