What is the opportunity? Corporate Banking plays a key role in the realization of RBC Capital Markets’ objectives through the structuring, syndication, and management of bank debt for a targeted customer base in the energy sector. In addition, Corporate Banking reinforces existing non‑lending business by initiating, coordinating and cross‑selling a full suite of products and capabilities alongside our partners in Global Investment Banking and Global Markets.
Through this effort, Corporate Banking is focused on best positioning RBC Capital Markets to win business across a full suite of products and services. IMPORTANT: A cover letter is required to apply for this position. What will you do?
Assist in the preparation of internal credit submissions (company, industry and financial analysis and modeling) and other documentation related to the transaction approval process; Work in a team environment with RBC Capital Markets partners including investment banking, loan syndications, commodities, foreign exchange, interest rate derivatives, debt and equity capital markets, loan agency, risk management and portfolio management; Assist with internal credit administration, including monitoring the team’s loan portfolio performance and market/industry conditions; Create, maintain, and update pitch decks, internal presentation materials, spreadsheets, and databases; Assist with Corporate Banking coverage for identified clients. What do you need to succeed? Must have's: Strong academic credentials including completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Engineering; Enrollment in the CFA program or other relevant professional designation would be an asset; 2‑3 years of work experience, ideally in corporate lending, corporate finance or the energy industry; Highly motivated self‑starter with keen attention to detail and strong interest in corporate lending and the energy sector; Ability to perform well under pressure, meet time‑sensitive deadlines, adapt to changing circumstances, prioritize work and multi‑task responsibilities while working for multiple people; Advanced financial modeling abilities, as well as strong written and presentation skills; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point; Knowledge of Bloomberg Portal would be an asset; Strong analytical skills including the ability to critically assess financial statements and other client reports to draw reasonable conclusions and make recommendations; Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.
