Role Overview About the role: The Director, Product Concept Development is responsible for taking product concepts from the innovation/ideation phase and building comprehensive product specifications that serve as the single source of truth throughout the product life cycle. The incumbent will work closely with the product team to transform early‑stage scoping documents into detailed specifications, address open design questions, and tailor product design to meet regulatory requirements and simplify administrative processes. Additionally, the Director will maintain the product specification library, ensure documentation remains up to date, meet handoff dates, and support launch plans and future enhancements.

Responsibilities Partner with the product development innovation lead to gain an understanding and turn early‑stage scoping documents into product specifications. Draft specifications in a way that can be easily translated into contract forms to streamline drafting and filing timelines. Collaborate with business analysts and cross‑functional teams to flesh out open product design items and close out open items in a timely manner to ensure on‑time delivery.

Articulate overall positioning and rationale for product design and decisions made in the design phase. Maintain clear and searchable records of decisions and rationale to inform future business decisions. Operate with a level of skepticism when intaking and developing new concepts to critique and root out issues.

Support the downstream product lifecycle from implementation to post‑launch support as necessary. Maintain focus on concepts that enhance stakeholder value. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business, tax, financial services or related studies.

Minimum of 10+ years of annuity industry experience. Understanding of annuity functional impacts on new product development work – anticipate issues and contemplate solutions. Working knowledge of annuity industry operational processes.

Ability to leverage resources to formulate and challenge hypotheses and arrive at conclusions quickly. Strong executive presence and experience in leading without authority and influencing change across an organization. Deep understanding of the annuity market, products, sales process, sales drivers, internal business process flows and administrative platforms.

Strong relationship skills and natural collaborator with the ability to bring various functions together to drive decisions. Ability to think like a business owner. Contract drafting and filing experience a plus.

Compensation & Benefits Anticipated base salary range: $120,000 to $140,000 at the commencement of employment. Candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the applicable incentive plan. Corebridge offers a competitive benefits package.
