Lead Engineer-Battery Design
Euler Motors
Job Description
Battery Pack & Module Design Leadership • Lead the design and development of battery pack enclosures, module structures, and mechanical interfaces using SolidWorks, ensuring design intent is met at every stage. • Own the creation and release of 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) with full accuracy, clarity, and manufacturability. • Drive cell and module layout strategies, mechanical integration planning, and packaging optimization to maximize energy density and assembly efficiency. Cross-Functional Collaboration & System Integration • Partner closely with BMS, electrical, and thermal engineering teams to ensure seamless mechanical–electrical system integration. • Act as the mechanical point of contact for battery-related design reviews, integration milestones, and technical escalations. Design Assurance & Engineering Excellence • Conduct thorough tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and DFM/DFA reviews to guarantee robust product performance and long-term reliability. • Lead design validation activities, including vibration, thermal, and mechanical testing; interpret results and drive corrective actions. • Champion design documentation practices — maintaining ECNs, release reports, and revision-controlled design records.
Supplier & Production Coordination • Coordinate with vendors, tooling suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure prototype builds and mass production tooling meets specifications. • Support make-or-buy decisions and establish supplier qualification criteria for critical battery mechanical components. Problem Resolution & Continuous Improvement • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for in-field and manufacturing battery issues; develop and implement corrective and preventive actions. • Drive cost reduction and weight optimization initiatives through systematic value engineering and design-to-cost methodologies. • Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of technical rigor and continuous learning.
