Job Description
Overview CEEFC is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to join its highly experienced team. The role reports to the CFO and collaborates with various parties to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions that support CEEFC’s mission and vision.
Preferred work location is Toronto or Ottawa, where CDEV offices offer a hybrid work option. Highly qualified candidates located elsewhere in Canada may also be considered. Key Responsibilities Manage and support CEEFC’s accounting operations, including monthly and quarterly financial close processes, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger activities.
Assist in the preparation of timely, accurate quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and PSAS. Prepare, review, and maintain account reconciliations, variance analysis, and expense reviews to support accurate financial reporting. Manage the invoicing process for related parties, including the preparation and issuance of quarterly interest invoices to borrowers and monitoring timely receipt of payments.
Liaise with Joint Auditors during interim reviews and year-end audits, including the coordination of audit deliverables and responses to audit inquiries. Support the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Coordinate with subsidiaries and internal stakeholders during critical reporting periods (quarter‑end, year‑end, forecast, and budget cycles) to compile and validate financial information.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, internal financial controls, and CEEFC policies and procedures. Assist with regulatory and corporate reporting requirements as applicable. Provide additional finance and administrative support as required to support CEEFC’s operations.
Key Skills and Attributes Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a similar field. CPA designation, with strong technical accounting knowledge and sound professional judgment. 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a national accounting firm and/or similar experience in industry. Excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Sound relationship management and interpersonal skills. Strong time‑management, planning and organization skills.
Ability to work in a deadline‑driven, fast‑paced environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and accounting software. Strong technical and analytical skills, good judgment.
Extensive knowledge of IFRS accounting practices and procedures, financial principles and concepts.
