I’m working with a well-established automation and robotics business that’s genuinely going from strength to strength. They design and build complex special-purpose machinery across sectors like medical devices and packaging — and thanks to a strong order book, they’re looking to bring in an experienced Software & Commissioning Engineer to support their continued growth. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be involved from development through to commissioning, working on technically interesting projects with a collaborative engineering team.
What you’ll be doing Developing PLC software and HMI systems for complex automation machinery Commissioning and testing special-purpose machines (both internally and on customer sites) Programming and integrating robots (6-axis, SCARA, Delta) Fault finding across control and safety systems Supporting installations, modifications, and ongoing customer projects Delivering operator training and technical support to customers What they’re looking for Strong background in automation software and machine commissioning Experience with Omron, Siemens or Allen Bradley PLCs Proven ability with robot programming/integration (desirable) Solid understanding of electrical diagrams and pneumatic systems Experience of interfacing with injection moulding machines (desirable) Comfortable working on-site when needed (UK travel + occasional overseas) A proactive, hands‑on engineer who enjoys problem‑solving What’s in it for you Salary up to £55,000 Joining a business with a strong pipeline of exciting, bespoke projects Employee Ownership Trust – you’ll have a real stake in the company’s success Opportunity to work on cutting‑edge automation solutions Supportive, experienced engineering team #J-18808-Ljbffr
