About the Hotel Iconic Holiday Inn Vanderbilt blends historic charm with modern convenience in the heart of Nashville. The hotel’s location places guests within walking distance of Vanderbilt University, Dudley Field, Centennial Park, the Parthenon, and various entertainment venues. Duties and Responsibilities Establish a client base of individuals, organizations, and corporate businesses through direct selling, ensuring that room night sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded. Achieve personal and team sales goals as assigned.

Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rentals, function space, and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines, and accurately produce and review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and banquet/catering event orders. Monitor inquiry calls and provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Produce reports and sales forecasts for the assigned area of responsibility.

Participate in forecasting, goal setting, and the annual budget process, including development of sales and marketing plans. Perform other duties as assigned. Serve as "manager on duty" as required.

Coordinate with other hotel departments to facilitate agreed services for prospective clients and disseminate sales-related information to relevant departments. Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off‑site presentations for potential clients, entertaining them in accordance with hotel policies and guidelines. Maintain client files and update information daily in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

Attend trade shows, conventions, and sales trips to key feeder markets. Follow up with clients after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

Interact with outside contacts such as airlines, wholesalers, corporate accounts, travel agencies, and community groups to generate repeat business. Assist in developing and implementing sales plans and participate in the annual budgeting and planning process. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field, and 4 years of experience working with a large or diverse market segments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in hospitality or hotel sales and marketing.

Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus. Experience in a hotel sales and marketing setting. Physical Requirements Frequently standing and moving within and outside the facility.

Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds. Handling objects. Additional Requirements Strong communication skills when interacting with guests, employees, and third parties to reflect highly on the hotel, brand, and company.

Good reading and writing skills for paperwork, reports, instructions, and training. Proficient in basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances. Problem‑solving, reasoning, motivating, and organizational abilities.

Ability to travel for workshops, tradeshows, and conventions. May require a valid driver’s license. May need to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Salary and Benefits Hourly pay rate for this role is $38.46 (applicable for jobs performed in Nashville, TN). The rate may be modified in the future based on experience, performance, and business needs.
