As we aim to accelerate growth in Canada, we are actively seeking a Department Area Manager to support our growth. Position Overview The Shift Department Manager (Area Manager) is responsible for leading day‑to‑day inbound/outbound warehouse operations during an assigned shift at our newly launching Halifax, NS site. The role ensures all work is performed in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), site safety policies, and quality standards while achieving productivity and service targets. This position plays a critical role in onboarding, training, and developing warehouse associates, team leaders, and process assistants, while maintaining a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced logistics environment. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Ensure strict adherence to all site safety rules, OHSA requirements, and quality standards Manage day‑to‑day inbound operations to meet or exceed productivity, quality, and safety targets Oversee dock operations, receiving, and stowing activities to ensure efficient flow of inbound freight Collaborate with Team Leaders and Process Assistants to optimize operational execution and training effectiveness Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions to maintain service levels and compliance Training & Integration Welcome and support new employees during onboarding in accordance with training and orientation requirements Facilitate training sessions on identification procedures, systems, tools, equipment, and best practices Ensure new hires develop the skills and competence required for their assigned workstations Participate in the improvement of training methods, tools, and materials to enhance employee effectiveness and retention Employee Development & Supervision Train teams on new procedures, process changes, and operational updates Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse associates and Process Assistants, fostering a culture of safe work practices and performance Observe and evaluate employee performance to identify opportunities for development and improvement Adapt coaching and training approaches based on individual skill levels and learning styles Support fair and consistent application of site policies, escalating employee relations matters as required Monitoring & Performance Evaluation Monitor individual and team performance throughout the shift and provide timely, constructive feedback Identify training gaps and performance challenges and propose appropriate action plans Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, safety, and attendance Analyze operational data and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and consistency Note: The above responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work being performed. Additional duties may be assigned as required to meet operational needs.

Requirements & Qualifications Education & Experience Professional certificate, post‑secondary education, or equivalent work experience Minimum 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or performance management experience preferred Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution centre, logistics, or 3PL environment is an asset Skills & Competencies Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coach and motivate frontline employees Hands‑on leadership style with regular presence on the warehouse floor Ability to work effectively in a KPI‑driven, high‑volume environment Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accountability Ability to work collaboratively with operations leadership and support teams Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, and standing for extended periods Flexibility to work assigned warehouse shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and peak periods as required Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by the company What Success Looks Like Inbound/Outbound operations consistently meet safety, quality, and productivity targets New hires are effectively onboarded and trained to site standards Associates and Process Assistants are engaged, supported, and developing their skills Performance and safety issues are identified and addressed proactively Strong alignment and communication across shifts and with operations leadership Base Salary: $70-75,000/year Bonus: up to 10% Health Benefits: effective from start date Retirement Plan: effective from start date
