UX Engineer (AI-First Product Experience) Location: Hyderabad, India (Hybrid / Remote with overlap) Company: OneCounsel Type: Full-time About OneCounsel OneCounsel is building an AI-native legal practice management platform for personal injury law firms in the United States. We combine AI-powered document extraction, intelligent case valuation, and prescriptive workflows to transform legal operations. The Opportunity We are looking for a UX Engineer who can take a raw idea and turn it into clear, compelling product experiences.

This is not a pixel-pushing role. We want someone who can: Tell stories through UX Visualize product direction before it exists Explore multiple approaches to the same problem Design AI-first interactions that guide users instead of overwhelming them You’ll define how the product behaves—not just how it looks. What You’ll Do User Storytelling & Product Vision Translate ambiguous ideas into structured user flows and narratives Create multiple UX approaches for the same problem and evaluate trade-offs Design experiences that guide users step-by-step through complex workflows Think in terms of system behavior, not just static screens AI-First Experience Design Design intelligent, guided workflows for data-heavy processes Create adaptive, context-aware forms that evolve based on user input Define how AI assists users—suggestions, autofill, validation, and decision support Shape interactions between users and AI agents (prompts, feedback loops, corrections) Visual Thinking & Rapid Exploration Quickly produce mock screens exploring different directions and concepts Use Figma and Pencil.dev for rapid UI generation and iteration Leverage AI-assisted design workflows to go from idea → multiple variations quickly Communicate ideas through flows, diagrams, and high-fidelity prototypes Adaptive Forms & Interaction Systems Design dynamic, multi-step forms that adjust based on user responses Create modular, reusable input patterns for complex workflows Ensure forms feel guided, conversational, and low-friction Define validation, error handling, and progressive disclosure patterns Collaboration & Execution Awareness Work closely with product, engineering, and AI teams Ensure designs are practical and aligned with technical constraints Bring awareness of frontend systems (React, Next.js) without being implementation-heavy Contribute to scalable UX patterns and design systems Who You Are Core Skills 5–10 years in UX, product design, or UX engineering Strong in: User storytelling and flow design Visual communication and prototyping (Figma + Pencil.dev) Designing complex, multi-step workflows Ability to take a vague idea and produce multiple concrete UX directions AI & Systems Thinking Experience designing AI-assisted or AI-driven interfaces Strong intuition for: Guided user flows Intelligent defaults and suggestions Reducing cognitive load in complex systems Technical Awareness (Important, not heavy coding) Familiarity with: React / Next.js ecosystems Dynamic UI patterns (adaptive forms, conditional rendering) AI interface patterns (agents, copilots, generative UI) Tools/frameworks like a2ui / agui (or similar emerging paradigms) Soft Skills Strong product instincts and ownership mindset Ability to think in systems, not just screens Clear communicator—can explain why a design works Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fast iteration cycles Why Join OneCounsel?
