About The Role As a Tendering Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the commercial success of the organisation by preparing and managing tenders, bids, and cost analysis to maximise profitability. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical expertise, strategic thinking and a commitment to compliance, ensuring all bids align with company policies, procedures, and industry standards. You will work closely with the Sales and Procurement teams to develop innovative and commercially viable solutions that align with client needs and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities Develop and prepare commercial and technical offers across the range of switchgear products from Baldwin & Francis, Igranic and Allenwest, enhancing the prospect of securing orders. Assess and validate incoming enquiries to identify the ability to offer and develop strategies to enhance success. Collaborate with Key Account Managers and Sales Managers to align on timescales and tactics in offer preparation.
Coordinate with Engineering and Production departments to ensure technical aspects of customers’ requirements are met cost‑effectively. Review tender Terms and Conditions and provide clarifications and exceptions in consultation with legal/risk management. Control the quality and accuracy of bids, ensuring optimal solutions are submitted.
Negotiate and confirm contract specifications with external groups, including contractors, end‑users and OEM companies. What we’re looking for Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Technical background and experience in MV and LV Electrical Switchgear.
Strong understanding of components, features and product limitations of electrical switchgear. Willingness to learn and develop. High attention to detail.
