About the Role As part of the product engineering team, the successful candidate will design and develop top product solutions for Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. focusing on the naval market. The role involves designing common IT solutions and network architecture, building supplier relationships, evaluating equipment, and supporting backbone system hardware from prototype through end of life. Leadership responsibilities include interest in new technologies, work estimates, improvement proposals, risk analyses, and design reviews.

Responsibilities Analyze requirements, derivations, verification and traceability for integrated systems including hardware and software. Produce and/or review design artifacts for systems and hardware products. Produce and/or review white papers and market studies for systems and hardware products.

Coordinate activities with procurement and liaise with suppliers to select appropriate products. Establish, produce and maintain a Bill of Materials to support equipment definition. Support design and demonstrate selected hardware solutions meet required performance and cyber‑accreditation criteria (operational environment, network, processing, storage, interfaces, protections, data and network security, storage architecture, middleware, processing utilization, system configuration and management, measurements and optimization of technical performance).

Review off‑the‑shelf technologies and industry/technology trends, including cost‑benefit studies and prototype demonstrations; define technology selection criteria based on required performance and lead cost‑benefit analyses. Qualifications and Skills Degree in engineering or related field with minimum two years of professional experience; a related master’s degree preferred. Strong communication skills in English and French with technical and non‑technical staff, management, personnel and external suppliers.

Ability to solve difficult problems within a team environment. High degree of initiative and autonomy, strong capacity for learning, and ability to adapt and perform in a dynamic environment. Knowledge of requirements management for hardware lifecycle from design to procurement and obsolescence.

Good knowledge of industry collaboration tools such as DOORS, Jira and Confluence. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Good knowledge of configuration management processes.

Daily communication with a virtual team outside Québec and with clients and suppliers located outside Canada. Ability to read, edit and prepare technical documents for primary clients. Language Requirements English required for all functions; French acceptable for communication within Québec.
