MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Structural Engineer (P.Eng.) on behalf of a growing structural engineering firm supporting construction and development projects across BC and Alberta. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and forward‑thinking team focused on delivering practical, buildable design solutions across a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial projects. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute structural design for a range of residential and building projects, including single‑family and multi‑family developments Perform detailed engineering calculations and develop structural designs for various building components and systems Prepare preliminary design concepts, sketches, and supporting documentation Review structural concepts, calculations, and specifications, providing technical input and recommendations Provide professional sign‑off (sealing) on drawings and engineering documents as required Support proposal development and contribute to business development initiatives Collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient and practical project delivery Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering Registered P.Eng. (or Struct. Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC Minimum 6 years of experience in structural design within Canada, ideally across residential, commercial, or municipal building projects Strong experience in lateral and seismic design, particularly for residential structures Proficiency with structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, WoodWorks, or similar Solid understanding of Canadian Building Codes and material design standards (wood, concrete, steel) Skills & Attributes Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly present technical information Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively Sound engineering judgement and analytical thinking Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams High level of accountability and ownership over quality and deliverables Why This Opportunity?
