Overview Position Details: As a Store Manager, you will manage all service-related and operational goals for a specific branch (store). You will ensure execution of the Branch Network strategic vision and goals through demonstrated leadership in the areas of talent excellence, service, and cost to serve. You will report to the Manager, Branch Network or Sr District Manager.
You Will Business Leadership Translates leadership and strategic direction for hourly branch team members. Communicates and executes a sound business strategy to team members that embraces change management. Makes sound, fact-based business decisions to support the needs and objectives of the business.
Leads the team to become the customer’s first choice for the products and services they need to keep their workplaces safe, efficient, and functioning by leading the location’s efforts for all customer interactions within aligned branch locations. Builds strong internal and external partnerships to facilitate success and embed our branch locations and technical expertise as critical value triggers for our customers and differentiate our value from the competition. Takes measured risks while balancing service, cost, ethics and integrity.
Operational Excellence Balances operating expenses with a higher level of service, while looking for ways to improve processes and remove non-value added activities. Works with market leaders to identify potential solutions for growing counter and will-call volume. Implements proper staffing strategies to ensure flexibility with the proper mix of FT and PT team members.
Monitors controllable expenses to achieve the assigned expense target. Builds a continuous improvement (CI) culture by promoting CI methodologies and supporting implementation of projects. Encourages all team members to look for improvement opportunities.
Dedicated to Operational Excellence by complying with all BBX standards. Leads a branch that represents Grainger’s service and commitment to customers and team members. Maintains safety and security for all team members and customers.
Ensures the branch, surrounding landscape, and parking areas are properly maintained. Follows and enforces all local/state/federal laws and company policies. Talent Management Creates an environment where team members are engaged, empowered, enthusiastic, and committed to the company’s success.
Fosters open, continuous, and proactive communication. Values diverse thoughts and ideas. Supports, writes, and conducts performance review discussions to ensure expectations/goals are set, monitored and executed.
Coaches the growth and development of branch team members. Ensures key people drivers of Selection, On-boarding, Coaching, and Rewards & Recognition are executed to support team member engagement. You Have Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (Preferred) 1+ years leadership experience (Required) Demonstrates the ability to implement initiatives, manage projects and demonstrate change leadership Possesses effective project management, planning and facilitation skills Possesses effective time-management skills Has a demonstrated ability to influence and persuade varying levels of internal and external decision-makers Ability to assist in aligning effective cross-functional work groups to develop integrated plans Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus Compensation and Benefits The anticipated base pay range for this position is $72,300.00 – $120,500.00.
This role may be eligible for an incentive target of up to 10% based on individual and company performance objectives. The pay range above is not a guarantee of compensation and may vary by location and experience. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans with coverage starting on day one. 6 company holidays per year and 18 PTO days for full-time employees (accrual prorized by start date). 6% company contribution to a 401(k) plan each pay period, with no employee contribution required.
