Position Summary Under the leadership of the District Director, the Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the store and donation area. The role ensures efficient, cost‑effective operations through world‑class customer service, processing donated goods, quality control, and maintaining a productive workforce. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for all management duties including opening/closing, all day-to-day store operations, and all Team Members.

Reviews, contributes to, and operates within the store’s budget and the budgeted expense-to-revenue ratio. Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and developing Team Members within the framework of GWH policies, procedures, and the Team Members’ job description. Maintain open availability to assist the store with management and leadership needs, including time frames outside of the management rotating schedule if needed.

Adhere to the established rotating schedule unless otherwise directed or approved by the District Director. Manage and influence the team by communicating clear company goals daily, weekly, monthly, and annually. Partner with the assistant store manager to create, prepare, and post schedules, review and approve electronic timesheets, and monitor labor hours.

Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities at POS registers and safe. Execute GWH’s workflow as designed by training, coaching, and documenting team member performances while assessing production progress on an hourly basis. Prepare and administer personnel and disciplinary actions and evaluations.

Complete and maintain work orders, purchase orders, supply orders, petty cash, and expense reports, ensuring timely submission. Ensure the Safety Program is being managed efficiently. Accurately operate all store systems and ensure financial and statistical counts are completed (donor counts, production standards, etc.).

Help ensure the proper handling and processing of incoming donation flow in and out of the store according to GWH policies and procedures. Coach by Walking Around (CBWA) for approximately 80% of the time on duty to ensure team members meet minimum expectations. Help ensure the timeliness of proper rotation of apparel and hard goods according to GWH policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned by Management. Additional Responsibilities Demonstrate professionalism and present a friendly, cooperative attitude. Ability to multi‑task, make quick decisions, adapt to change, and work in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced environment.

Adhere to all GWH Policies & Procedures, Loss Prevention & Safety Regulations, and GWH Guiding Principles. Be punctual, maintain dependable attendance, and present an appropriate appearance. Conduct work in a safe manner, maintaining good housekeeping standards and ensuring aisles and pathways are clear and free from clutter.

May be asked to attend training sessions and participate in activities outside GWH. Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Minimum of two (2) years of management/supervisory experience is preferred. Two (2) years of retail sales experience is preferred. Good computer skills.

Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holiday, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.

Must have reliable transportation. Able to lift up to 40 lbs and, occasionally, lift/move items up to 100 lbs (e.g., large bags of donations, televisions, furniture, etc.). Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. An indoor work environment with occasional exposure to outside temperatures.
