Job Description

Summary Store Managers are responsible for the complete day‑to‑day operation of the store, maximizing sales and profitability while minimizing expenses. They ensure the store is optimally stocked and merchandised, provide an exceptional customer experience, and embody CNRG’s culture and values. Managers conduct themselves with personal integrity and ensure all store operations adhere to CNRG policy and procedures, demonstrating expertise in merchandising, operational aspects, and local market dynamics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform all cashier, point‑of‑sale, and administrative functions as required. Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service. Train and motivate the sales team to deliver outstanding service.

Cultivate satisfied customers in line with CNRG’s operating philosophy and profit objectives. Respond promptly to customer complaints and resolve them quickly. Maintain proper merchandise presentation according to local and corporate directives.

Organize personnel and processes to ensure on‑time, on‑grade, complete customer deliveries. Motivate contractor salesmen to prospect new customers while meeting existing customer needs. Budgets & Payroll Drive store sales and profit to exceed budget.

Understand financial dynamics and remain accountable for results that meet or exceed company objectives. Control costs and schedule payroll in alignment with CNRG labor productivity and service goals. Inventory Control Record all inventory movements accurately to detect and prevent shrinkage.

Maintain proper inventory levels to meet customer needs while meeting investment goals. Keep inventory clean and orderly in accordance with company policy and best practices. Ensure warehouse and yard personnel accurately receive and store merchandise.

Safety & Loss Prevention Create a safety‑first environment and model safe practices. Apply store security measures and advise employees on loss prevention. Ensure all equipment is safe and in good condition.

Conduct regular safety meetings and document findings. Protect inventory against loss and theft. Employee Relations Recruit, select, and train key personnel.

Create a team environment across the store. Provide access to the Resource Center for job‑related resources. Publish schedules promptly and record hours accurately.

Foster a positive work environment encouraging motivation, productivity, and morale. Maintain an open‑door policy for reporting problems and sharing ideas. Communication Maintain compliance with company policy and report unusual occurrences.

Check email regularly for management and customer communications. Lead monthly store meetings to discuss performance, goals, promotions, events, and safety. Use the Resource Center for essential information and reporting.

Report problems, obstacles, and improvement ideas to supervise. Coaching & Training Create an enabling work environment supportive of self‑motivation and productivity. Set goals, provide feedback, and implement corrective measures to help the team succeed.

Supervise and mentor store and yard employees, developing assistants for future promotion. Direct associates to training opportunities through the Resource Center. Perform other duties similar to those above as assigned by the store manager’s supervisor or other qualified corporate or platform representative.

Qualifications Must demonstrate excellent leadership, problem‑solving, communication and organizational skills; manage with limited supervision and handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Must possess mathematical and business skills for interpreting and using data, knowledge of retail building materials and general retail operations, and physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, reach shelf items, and climb ladders.
