Overview We are seeking a versatile product engineer who can build reusable components across the stack and advocate for the time and space needed to do so. As a product engineer at Ashby, you will ship features end‑to‑end at a high pace and own large portions of our products from research through implementation. Responsibilities Own end‑to‑end product development for large features, including research, specification, wireframing, coding, and integration.
Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to translate customer needs into technical solutions. Build reusable, high‑quality components and architecture that scale to tens of thousands of daily users. Mentor teammates on best practices, while focusing on delivering your own projects.
Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and continuous improvement of our engineering process. Qualifications Not afraid to tackle any part of the technology stack. Experienced with projects that involve product and technical ambiguity.
Capable of balancing speed and quality in a high‑velocity environment. Ambitious and open to feedback, leveraging the freedom to learn and grow. Excellent collaborator and communicator, able to vet decisions with stakeholders.
Proactive in creating leverage through automation and abstraction. Does not require company‑driven process; comfortable with minimal formal planning. Willing to work on detailed customer issues and investigative tasks.
Demonstrated ownership of projects with minimal supervision. Experienced at leading and mentoring senior engineers, anticipating limited mentorship opportunities for junior staff. No LeetCode, whiteboard, or traditional coding tests. Feedback will be provided if an offer is not extended.
