Sr Interventional Radiology Technologist

As a Senior Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will coordinate daily activities and schedules for the special procedure's component of the Radiology department to ensure effective and efficient patient services. Assists the interventional radiologist in the performance of complex diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures.

Functions as senior resource/team leader, coordinates ongoing workflow and activities of staff level radiologic technologists, nurses, and ancillary support personnel.

Schedules patients, prepares and positions patients, equipment and supplies needed for each procedure. Uses immobilization devices and radiation protective measures during the operation of imaging equipment. Evaluates radiographs for technical accuracy and quality. ~ Utilizes physical assessment skills, monitoring devices (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, EKG), intravenous care and aseptic techniques in providing patient care. ~ Provides input for and/or recommends personnel actions including performance appraisals, merit increases, and promotions for assigned personnel.

May serve as educational resource and/or coordinate student/staff instruction. Participates in quality assurance activities and provides liaison support between physicians, technical staff, and department management. ~ Reviews and makes recommendations for revision of policies, procedures, and/or regulations. Provides input regarding budget preparation and makes recommendations for equipment and supply purchases.

Collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory adherence. Establishes and maintains productive communication networks in the department and Hospital-wide. 1 2015) in Radiologic Technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or Medical Education and Training Campus (METC). 3-4 years Minimum 3 years experience in vascular interventional environment (cardiac cath vascular or neuro interventional area) required
