In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost‑effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems. You will own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval. You will be our suppliers’ primary point of technical contact for your projects.

After the design is completed and approved, you will hand‑off the project to our Ops Engineering team who will oversee the installation and commissioning of the project. You’ll support that team to ensure that the system you’ve designed is successfully installed, commissioned and launched. Your projects will include green‑fields, brown‑fields, and retrofits.

Our team is responsible for designing fulfillment centers, cross‑dock facilities, specialty facilities (e.g., reverse logistics, hazmat) and ground and air transportation centers throughout North America and Europe. Projects will span template‑based and designed‑from‑scratch approaches. You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast‑paced and often ambiguous environment.

Key Responsibilities Collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost‑effective solutions for fulfillment and distribution systems. Own multiple projects simultaneously from concept realization through design approval.

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for suppliers on your projects. Hand‑off completed designs to Ops Engineering for installation, commissioning, and launch. Support installation, commissioning, and launch activities to ensure successful deployment.

Basic Qualifications 5+ years of design & innovation, research & development work experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent Experience with design & innovation and research & development Experience in management of engineering design projects Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software Up to 20% travel required Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of specialty experience with progressive responsibility Master’s degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field Knowledge of concepts such as system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high‑speed manufacturing Experience with design‑in‑safety The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
