Job Description
Liquidity Services Inc. (LSI) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to rapidly grow our emerging Software Solutions marketplace business, which consists of leading private-label e-commerce and auction marketplace solutions. This role is pivotal in defining and executing both near-term and long-term strategic initiatives to expand our unified marketplace and services for retail liquidators, traditional auctioneers, and resellers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in eCommerce, a deep understanding of enterprise and end consumer behavior, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve business goals.
This Senior Director role will own revenue growth, margin, GTM execution, and operating discipline—while partnering closely with the business unit’s founder and technical leadership. This business unit operates with a US-based account and support team headquartered in Richardson, TX and an engineering delivery team in Chennai, India. Responsibilities Strategy Development: Create and implement a successful strategy for the Software Solutions business, including the refinement and growth of a multi‑tenant auction marketplace, acquiring and retaining customers, as well as driving revenue growth.
Operations Management: Supervise all elements of the Software Solutions business unit operations, which include sales and account management, product platform roadmap, and GTM strategy for the multi‑tenant reseller marketplace, financial forecasts, and budget management. Market Analysis: Perform comprehensive market analysis to understand trends, customer insights, and the competitive landscape, pinpointing opportunities for growth and innovation. Customer Acquisition and Retention: Initiate actions to acquire, retain, and grow relationships with enterprise customers, including retail liquidators, traditional auctioneers, and resellers, ensuring ongoing growth, and customer satisfaction.
Performance Monitoring: Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of the Software Solutions business, making data‑driven decisions to enhance performance. Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and motivate a multi-disciplinary team; cultivating a culture of high engagement, productivity, and customer‑centricity. This position is responsible for hiring, performance management, employee development, and ensuring work is completed in alignment with organizational objectives.
Cross Department Collaboration: Work efficiently with LSI's Corporate Marketing, IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and other departments to execute the Software Solutions growth strategy. Team or Function Manager Qualifications Education/ Experience : Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred. Senior leadership experience in B2B SaaS Prior ownership of a P&L (GM, VP/GM, BU Head, Managing Director, President) Experience scaling a business in the $10M plus ARR range Minimum of 10 years of experience in eCommerce, transactional marketplaces, or online auction businesses, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Direct or adjacent experience with: Retail liquidators Traditional auction houses (Marketplace, transaction-driven, or vertical SaaS backgrounds translate well) Resellers Skills and Ability : Deep understanding of SaaS sales, customer acquisition strategies, and CRM systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a data‑driven approach to decision‑making. Financially literate and metrics‑driven. Experience working with globally distributed teams, particularly in India.
Collaborative style—able to partner with the founder who is actively involved in the customer sales cycle and platform development. Work Conditions/ Physical Demands : Travel : Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or business needs (up to 10%). Compensation is determined by various factors such as location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal and external equity and organizational needs.
