Your Impact As a Software Engineer II on Axonâs Robotics team, youâll help transform how law enforcement and military agencies deploy advanced robotic systems. Youâll build Androidâbased software that runs on Axonâs Ground Control Station (GCS), enabling operators to interact with ground and air robots.
Your work will directly impact saving lives, and youâll architect and lead critical software features for robotic command and control, video live streaming, and data management. Location This role is based in Boston and follows a hybrid schedule: inâperson TuesdaysâFriday; remote Mondays (unless an accommodation is approved). What Youâll Do Lead engineering architecture and design reviews to ensure high standards in software quality.
Collaborate with product design to translate mobile UI designs into functional, engaging solutions. Drive the entire mobile software lifecycle from prototyping to commercialization and postâlaunch support. Interface with cloud services for seamless integration across platforms.
Set a high technical standard for the team through code and design reviews. Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer needs. Enhance engineering processes, including sprint planning, standâups, and longâterm planning.
Build robust and reliable missionâcritical software that meets high standards for stability in critical applications. Collaborate closely with other groups to align on goals, ensuring impactful and innovative solutions. What You Bring 3+ years of industry experience shipping Android applications to the Google Play Store.
Deep understanding of mobile phones and leadership in mobile design reviews and implementation. Experience with modern architecture (MVVM, MVI, etc.) and unit testing. Android expertise with Retrofit, Coroutines, OkHttp, Hilt, Jetpack Compose.
Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON. Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, ServerâSentâEvents, WebSockets; debugging with Wireshark or Charles a plus. Nice To Have Experience with SDKs for Bluetooth, WiFi, Networking, Camera, Audio, File Management, and thirdâparty hardware integration.

The starting base pay ranges from USD 120,750 to USD 193,200, depending on geographic market and other factors. Benefit options support your physical, financial, and emotional wellâbeing.
