Abatec is supporting a key client in the recruitment of a SHEQ Manager to help deliver critical water and wastewater infrastructure programmes across South Wales. This role sits within an established multi-disciplinary delivery team and is integral to maintaining high standards of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) across a major long‑term framework. Combining strategic leadership with hands‑on operational oversight, the SHEQ Manager will support a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, workforce safety, environmental protection, and quality outcomes across multiple live sites and contractor teams.

Responsibilities Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the SHEQ Management System across framework operations. Develop and maintain SHEQ strategy aligned with client expectations, UK legislation and ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001). Develop assurance programmes, audit schedules and compliance monitoring processes.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including CDM Regulations, HSE guidance and environmental legislation. Report on SHEQ performance trends, KPIs and improvement actions to senior management and client representatives. Qualifications Proven experience working as part of a Health & Safety team within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.

NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent). IOSH membership (or working towards). Strong knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation and CDM Regulations.
