Job Description
Role Overview The Settlements team is responsible for supporting Fixed Income and Cash Equity broking desks across several EMEA locations, performing settlement middle office tasks to ensure timely and accurate matching of trades within a controlled environment. The team settles principal bond, equity, and money market instruments (CDs, Commercial Paper, notes) via Euroclear or 30+ local domestic markets using an agent bank network (BNY Mellon, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, etc). The company maintains a matched principal approach with no trading position or portfolio.
The team also processes a small stock loan business and manages corporate actions such as coupon and dividend payments. Key Responsibilities Timely matching of trades and resolution of exceptions the same day. Validation of front office amendments/cancellations when necessary.
First line support to brokers for settlement queries. Escalation of issues to management when required. Collaboration with peripheral teams to ensure accurate trade data.
Daily review of cross desk trading to maintain a flat book and resolve residual balances. Maintain and clear exception queues efficiently. Perform daily reconciliations and resolve arising exceptions.
Provide support on relevant projects under managerial direction. Implement regulatory and business changes within Settlements function. Support internal or external audits as required.
Assist Technology teams in UAT and post-release support. Experience & Competencies Essential Excellent attention to detail, high organizational skills, and proactive approach. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a high‑pressure environment. Highly effective written & oral communication skills. Comfortable working in fast‑paced or pressured environments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Desired Knowledge of financial markets. Previous experience in a similar organization.
