Job Description
Job Summary We are looking for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Leeds, a Category B prison in Gloucester Terrace, Armley, Leeds, West Yorkshire. The role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, with day, night shifts and two weekend days per month. Hours & Salary 37.5 hours per week (day shifts 07:00‑20:30, night shifts 20:00‑07:30).
Salary up to £49,175 per annum FTE, depending on experience. Job Responsibilities Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team and prioritise patient care. Develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning.
Deliver clinical and psychosocial interventions in group and 1‑to‑1 settings. Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and communicate treatment options. Monitor therapeutic responses to medication, potential side effects and liaise with prescribers.
Provide advice and information to individuals on a 1‑to‑1 basis. Encourage patient involvement in regime and therapeutic activities, creating a physical and psychological environment conducive to high‑quality care. Qualifications & Experience Registered Adult Nurse (NMC).
Current UK professional registration. Experience with opiate‑dependent patients. Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
Experience of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working. Well‑being: RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake. Line management experience – desirable.
