Job Description

Senior Structural Engineer – Mississauga, CA, ON Responsibilities Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification, structural design, and ageing management for steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry systems. Develop and prepare engineering calculations, design documents, and complete engineering packages using tools such as ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, and SSASI. Lead conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design, ensuring full compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and permitting requirements.

Deliver all assigned engineering deliverables within scope, schedule, budget, and QA requirements, supporting project objectives. Provide technical direction, review, and quality oversight. Qualifications Civil Engineering degree with 12+ years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures for nuclear power plants and/or industrial facilities; Master’s degree is an asset.

Licensed Professional Engineer in Canada, preferably registered as a P.Eng. in Ontario, and eligible for PWGSC security clearance. Strong expertise in static, dynamic, and seismic analysis of structures and foundations, supported by both design-office and site experience (3–5 years site experience preferred). Proficient in structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SECURE, and similar industry-standard tools.

Thorough knowledge of Canadian and international civil/structural codes and standards, with familiarity in nuclear QA programs, safety codes, and plant modification processes (e.g., ECC). Demonstrated ability to manage schedules and budgets, with strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and effectiveness in multidisciplinary team environments, including willingness to travel to client sites.
