Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Are you a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a role where you can take real ownership of complex, technically demanding products? This is an opportunity to join a well-established specialist manufacturer based in the Manchester Area, supplying bespoke mechanical systems to critical industries across the UK and internationally. Annual salary £45,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience) You'll work across the full design lifecycle — from concept and development through to detailed manufacture-ready drawings — in a collaborative engineering team with genuine variety day to day.

What you'll be doing 3D modelling and detailed manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks Structural calculations, stress analysis, and design validation using engineering first principles support design decisions Concept generation and development of new mechanical products Prototype builds, workshop involvement, and test data review Close collaboration with manufacturing, commercial, and operations teams Mentoring junior engineers and reviewing design output across the team What we're looking for Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline 6+ years' experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer role Strong SolidWorks skills — 3D modelling, assemblies, and technical drawings Ability to carry out independent structural calculations and engineering analysis FEA experience (SolidWorks Simulation or equivalent) Right to work in the UK The package - 8% Company Pension Contribution - 25 days + bank holiday - Early finish Fridays
