Position Overview The Senior Manager โ€“ Finance & Accounts is responsible for leading the University's finance and accounting functions, ensuring financial integrity, statutory compliance, efficient fund management, accurate financial reporting, and robust internal controls. The role supports strategic planning, budgeting, treasury operations, audit management, grant accounting, and compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to higher education institutions in India. Qualifications and Experience M.Com / CA Inter / MBA with 10+ years experience.

At least 5 years in a managerial role . Experience in Universities, higher education institutions, research organizations, or large non-profit organizations is preferred. Exposure to ERP-based financial management systems Key Responsibilities 1.

Financial Accounting & Reporting Oversee the maintenance of books of accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards and university policies. Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Monitor general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed asset accounting.

Prepare management reports and financial analyses for university leadership and governing bodies. Ensure accurate reconciliation of bank accounts, fee collections, grants, and other institutional funds. 2. Budgeting & Financial Planning Lead the annual budgeting process across academic, administrative, and research departments.

Monitor departmental budgets and expenditure against approved allocations. Conduct budget variance analysis and recommend corrective actions. Support strategic financial planning and long-term sustainability initiatives.

Develop cash flow forecasts and financial projections. 3. Treasury & Cash Management Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements. Oversee banking operations and maintain relationships with financial institutions.

Monitor investments, fixed deposits, and surplus fund utilization in accordance with university policies. Ensure timely processing of vendor payments, scholarships, stipends, and employee reimbursements. 4. Compliance & Taxation Ensure compliance with: Income Tax Act GST regulations TDS provisions Labour and payroll-related statutory requirements UGC regulations AICTE norms (where applicable) FCRA regulations for foreign contributions CSR grant accounting requirements Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and regulatory submissions.

Liaise with government departments and regulatory authorities. 5. Audit & Internal Controls Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, tax audits, and government inspections. Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of recommendations.

Strengthen internal financial controls and risk management frameworks. Develop and update finance-related policies, SOPs, and delegation matrices. 6. Fee Revenue & Student Financial Operations Supervise fee accounting, fee reconciliation, scholarships, concessions, and refunds.

Monitor student receivables and collection efficiency. Ensure proper accounting and reporting of hostel, transport, examination, and other auxiliary revenues. 7. Research Grants & Fund Management Manage accounting and reporting for sponsored research projects and grants.

Ensure compliance with funding agency guidelines. Prepare utilization certificates and financial reports for sponsors and donors. Monitor grant expenditure and fund utilization. 8.

ERP & Process Automation Oversee finance and accounting modules within ERP systems. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and process efficiency. Drive automation initiatives to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with IT teams for system enhancements and financial controls. 9. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management Lead and mentor finance and accounts personnel. Establish performance goals and monitor team productivity.

Coordinate with academic departments, administration, procurement, HR, and external stakeholders. Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and service excellence.
