Senior Estates Operations Manager The closing date is 12 July 2026 University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Estates Operations Manager to provide professional leadership, operational oversight and statutory compliance across a complex multi-site healthcare estate. The post holder will ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of building, engineering and maintenance services across UHBW sites. The role includes responsibility for managing multi-disciplinary technical teams, overseeing planned and reactive maintenance programmes, ensuring adherence to relevant HTMs/HBNs and statutory requirements, and contributing to the Trust's emergency planning and on-call arrangements.
The post holder will also provide operational leadership for helideck services in line with Civil Aviation Authority guidance. Person Specification Experience Proven experience managing a large team of technical, skilled and unskilled staff. Experience of H&S requirements for engineering systems and maintenance. Experience in computerised maintenance management systems.
Extensive technical knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical plant & equipment Experience of analysis of data and presentation of findings Experience working in an Acute Hospital environment. Experience of managing large budgets and delivering services within budgetary limits. Experience of leading change management across a large and complex staff group Qualifications Building Services related degree and master's level qualification and professional or equivalent specialist knowledge acquired through course and experience (or equivalent experience) Membership of appropriate professional body - IHEEM, IMECHE, RICS, RIBA, CIOB etc.
Evidence of continuing professional development. Skills Detailed knowledge of relevant current legislation/guidance and associated statutory requirements. Ability to communicate complex and emotive issues to a variety of different groups, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to prioritise and manage own workload. Ability to undertake several projects concurrently Knowledge of helideck operations.
