Qualcomm Software Engineers design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world‑class products that meet and exceed customer needs. They collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system‑level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces. *This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.* Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience. 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with leadership.

Experience in QEMU development, especially the VirtIO subsystems, and/or experience with SystemC. Principal Duties And Responsibilities Leverage advanced software application knowledge to provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, customer training, product demonstrations, commercialization, customization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and customer personnel to identify customer problems, debug complex issues in customer design software systems, and recommend innovative solutions.

Drive system architecture and feature‑specific customizations tailored for customer requirements from proof of concept to final product commercial launches. Assess potential application of company products, prepare detailed product specifications, disseminate technical information on specific software areas, and troubleshoot complex issues regarding software tools and products. Write detailed and complex product technical documentation, application notes, and FAQs.

Level Of Responsibility Works independently with minimal supervision. Provides supervision/guidance to other team members. Decision‑making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.

Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information and may require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc. Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions). Tasks often require multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem‑solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
