Location US-AZ-PHOENIX-3414-B1 ~ 3414 S 5th St ~ BLDG 1 About the Role Join the Evacuation Systems Engineering team at Collins Aerospace, working on the development, qualification, and production of aircraft evacuation slide systems. What You Will Do Lead cross‑functional teams for small to moderate sized projects associated with the development, qualification, and production of aircraft evacuation slide systems. Support Project Management in scoping, resource forecasting, bid and proposal submission, and execution within the RTX Lifecycle Program Management system.
Lead meetings with customers and suppliers to resolve technical issues and coordinate team activities. Generate development and qualification plans/reports and coordinate test unit builds and testing. Perform financial analysis of design components to meet design‑to‑cost targets.
Prepare design documentation, obtain approvals, and support production implementation. Provide engineering material review board dispositions for non‑conforming products. Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for manufacturing operations and field issues.
Coordinate with Systems Engineering to assess impact of design changes, prepare and execute validation plans, update documentation, and obtain change approvals. Prepare and present project status to key stakeholders and support Program Management reviews. Participate in defining standard engineering procedures.
Work autonomously with limited oversight, mentoring less experienced engineers. Qualifications You Must Have Degree in STEM with minimum five years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum three years of experience. Experience working with Microsoft O365 software suite.
Qualifications We Prefer Experience in the design, development, and regulatory approval of aircraft systems. Exceptional problem‑solving and communication skills. Ability to multi‑task, prioritize daily issues, and strategize longer‑term projects.
