Job Description

Overview Senior Engineer – Lead Capital Projects and Engineering at Myerstown site. The role leads capital projects and engineering activities, managing investment planning, execution, and asset life cycle integration across facilities, utilities, OTC, and Nutritionals factories. It requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a focus on innovation, digitalization, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities • Lead a high‑performing capital engineering team, acting as Visionary, Architect, Coach, and Catalyst. Develop team capabilities, promote continuous improvement, and maintain a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence. • Translate strategy into business needs, develop concept feasibility, financial business cases, and project planning and execution activities. Optimize capital expenditure to reduce COGS and operating costs. • Plan, budget, procure, and supervise construction of capital engineering projects, ensuring delivery on time, within cost, and with minimal production impact.

Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and supply commitment. • Develop and execute robust asset life‑cycle management and spare parts strategies, aligning with Operational Maintenance Excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. • Manage project lifecycle from scope definition, user requirements, design, cost engineering, procurement, construction, and installation qualification (IQ/OQ) through project closure. Coordinate cross‑functional stakeholder alignment and regulatory compliance. • Provide technical expertise to production maintenance teams, support preventive maintenance programs, and troubleshoot equipment issues. • Audit and decide on equipment vendors, construction services, and engineering contractors, ensuring alignment with Bayer standards. • Drive innovation by evaluating new technologies, digital solutions, and manufacturing practices and aligning them with long‑term site strategy and the Factory of the Future initiatives. • Ensure compliance with cGMP, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements and maintain a “License to Operate.” Participate in FDA and internal audits, providing subject‑matter expertise. • Collaborate across operations, engineering, supply chain, quality, IT, and other functions to ensure seamless execution of capital projects and integration with enterprise priorities. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 6 years of multifuncional experience or master’s with 5 years.

Deep experience in complex engineering and manufacturing management in the consumer or pharmaceutical industry. Excellent project management skills, managing cross‑functional teams and complex projects. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and executive‑level influencing skills.

Strong analytical and data‑driven problem‑solving abilities. Proven people‑leadership and team‑building skills. Strategic thinking with business insight and awareness of external trends.

Benefits Employees can expect a salary range of $84,880.00 – $127,320.00, with additional compensation potential (bonus/incentive).
