Senior Electrical Engineer Birmingham (Hybrid) ยฃ50,000 - ยฃ60,000 + Benefits We are working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy who are looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing Birmingham team. This is a genuine senior-level opportunity, offering the chance to take ownership of projects, lead technical delivery, and mentor junior engineers within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The role will focus predominantly on major education projects , alongside a diverse pipeline of work across commercial, healthcare, infrastructure, and other public sector developments.
You will be working on technically challenging schemes with a strong emphasis on low-carbon, sustainable design solutions. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects Produce and review detailed electrical design drawings, models and specifications Undertake calculations and system design across power, lighting, fire alarms, small power, and controls Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully integrated design solutions Mentor and support junior engineers within the team Engage with clients and contribute to project meetings and technical discussions Ensure compliance with relevant standards including CIBSE, Part L and BREEAM Support project delivery from concept through to completion Key Requirements: Proven experience in Electrical Building Services design Strong background delivering education or large-scale public sector projects Confident in a client-facing and project-leading capacity Working knowledge of design software such as Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD, Navisworks and MS Excel (Revit/IES desirable) Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent experience) Chartered status or working towards (CIBSE/IET) desirable This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Engineer looking to step into a role with real responsibility, strong project variety, and clear progression within a well-established consultancy.
