Our client, a global investment firm, is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join their team in Manhattan Beach, CA.

Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced Power BI dashboards and reports with a focus on automation and performance.
  • Build and optimize data models, DAX calculations, and Power Query transformations.
  • Automate ETL pipelines, data refresh schedules, and integrations with SQL and cloud data sources.
  • Collaborate with investment, operations, and finance teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Implement data governance, security, and performance tuning for BI solutions.
  • Support and mentor junior BI developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to BI reporting and data sources.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance BI architecture, recommending new technologies or processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in BI development, with at least 3 years focused on advanced Power BI solutions.
  • Expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling techniques.
  • Proficient in SQL development, query optimization, and database design.
  • Experience with data warehouse concepts, ETL processes, and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, or other cloud-based data platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimize large datasets for performance.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in investment management, private equity, or financial services.
  • Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages for advanced analytics.
  • Knowledge of APIs and data integration with third-party systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for BI deployments.

Pay Rate: $75.00 - $100.00/hr
