Read more at www.dsv.com Location: Lancaster, TX Division: Solutions Job Posting Title: Senior Business Analyst, Transportation Time Type: Full Time Summary The Senior Business Analyst, Transportation serves as the transportation subject matter expert and is responsible for analyzing, designing, governing, and optimizing trucking operations integrated with warehouse networks. This role functions as the primary liaison between warehouse operations and transportation, ensuring alignment on network design, carrier strategy, performance management, and cost efficiency.

This position owns transportation KPIs, data visibility, and carrier performance governance across all warehouse‑supported verticals, providing strategic and operational leadership to structure scalable, compliant, and high‑performing trucking solutions that support warehouse operations and customer requirements. The role develops performance visibility, evaluates carrier performance, and supports leadership decision‑making through data analysis, financial modeling, and operational recommendations. Partnering closely with Operations, Finance, Procurement, Sales, and Transportation stakeholders, the position supports implementations, network expansion, and continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse‑integrated transportation programs.

Duties & Responsibilities Network Analysis & Operational Design Design and analyze trucking networks supporting warehouse operations, including shuttle, dedicated, spot, and hybrid capacity models. Partner with warehouse leadership and operations to align transportation flows with inbound and outbound throughput, labor planning, and dock utilization. Define and evaluate carrier operating models, including service expectations, utilization targets, and performance standards at warehouse locations.

Lead capacity planning and forecasting based on projected inbound and outbound volumes and network demand. Support new business implementations, customer onboarding, and network expansions involving transportation and warehouse integration. Serve as the primary liaison between warehouse and transportation teams to ensure operational alignment.

Performance Analytics & Continuous Improvement Own and maintain transportation KPI visibility and performance reporting for all carriers supporting warehouse operations across business verticals. Develop, maintain, and analyze dashboards tracking service levels, utilization, productivity, cost performance, and carrier metrics. Analyze performance trends and recommend corrective action plans and operational improvements.

Identify operational inefficiencies and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service reliability and operational performance. Monitor carrier compliance with company service standards and contractual expectations. Financial Analysis & Strategic Support Support network costing, transportation budget development, and financial modeling for warehouse‑integrated transportation programs.

Analyze cost‑per‑mile, cost‑per‐load, utilization, and EBIT impact to identify cost optimization opportunities. Provide analytical recommendations to Contract Logistics leadership regarding transportation network design, asset strategy, and cost optimization initiatives and opportunities. Provide transportation input into business cases, pricing strategies, and operational planning.

Evaluate operational scenarios and provide recommendations balancing service performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Collaboration & Stakeholder Support Work cross‑functionally with operations, finance, procurement, and sales teams to align transportation strategy with business objectives. Provide subject‑matter expertise and analytical support to internal stakeholders regarding transportation operations and carrier management.

Communicate performance trends, risks, and operational impacts to leadership. Support process improvements and operational standardization across warehouse locations. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years of experience in transportation operations, logistics analysis, trucking operations, dedicated fleet management, or supply chain analytics.

Experience designing or supporting transportation networks integrated with warehouse or distribution operations. Demonstrated experience managing carrier performance, service KPIs, and cost improvement initiatives. Experience supporting new business implementations and network expansions.

Experience in capacity planning, forecasting, and network modeling based on projected volumes. Experience working across multiple internal stakeholders (operations, finance, procurement, and sales). Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of transportation operations and carrier management practices.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to build and analyze transportation cost models and forecasts. Experience evaluating cost‑per‑mile, cost‑per‑load, utilization, and profitability impact.

Business acumen with ability to balance service, cost, and scalability. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence cross‑functional partners without direct authority.

Experience leading performance reviews and corrective action planning. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with reporting and data analysis tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Physical Demands This position requires extended periods of sitting while working at a computer, reviewing operational data, and preparing reports and analyses.

The role involves frequent communication through phone, video conferencing, and in‑person meetings. The employee may occasionally travel to company office locations and operational sites and must be able to move throughout office environments during meetings and operational discussions. Occasional lifting or carrying of a laptop, files, or materials up to approximately 15–20 pounds may be required.

Work Environment The Senior Business Analyst, Transportation primarily works in a professional office or remote office environment while supporting operations across multiple locations. The role requires periodic travel to company offices and operational sites for implementation support, performance reviews, and business initiatives, including travel by automobile and occasional commercial air travel. The work environment is fast‑paced and deadline‑driven, requiring frequent collaboration with cross‑functional stakeholders and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Salary For this position, the expected base pay range is $100,000 - $115,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
