Job Description
The Senior Business Analyst/Senior Solutions Delivery Lead is responsible for supporting one or more business units through implementation of new systems, ongoing work in existing systems, and desired enhancements. This position acts as the primary point of contact for the business unit they support across IT initiatives and ensures that software solutions are delivered efficiently and effectively. It guides requirements definition, addresses functional and non-functional questions, coordinates user testing efforts, and oversees software deliveries.
This position is also primarily responsible for tracking schedule and budget and working with the business unit, internal teams, and the vendor to communicate and mitigate delays and overruns. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned business units across IT initiatives, building trusted partnerships and providing clear, consistent communication on in-flight and upcoming work. Partner with business stakeholders and end users to understand business processes, objectives, and future needs, and support the development and maintenance of a technology roadmap.
Lead requirements discovery and documentation efforts, including business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and current- and future-state process and data flows. Act as a liaison across business stakeholders, internal delivery teams, and vendor partners, coordinating activities, resolving functional questions, and ensuring aligned delivery of integrated solutions. Identify, analyze, and proactively address risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project delivery or ongoing system performance.
Coordinate and lead user acceptance testing efforts, including test planning, release scheduling, defect triage, and collaboration with internal and vendor teams to drive resolution. Track delivery progress and communicate status, decisions, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders to ensure initiatives remain aligned with timelines and budgets. Lead implementation and conversion efforts for new underwriting programs and enhancements to existing platforms.
Develop and maintain insurance domain knowledge to anticipate business needs and provide informed guidance on solution design and delivery. Experience and Skills Required 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 10+ years of relevant professional experience without a degree. At least 3 years of insurance industry experience required, experience in the specialty underwriting and/or Managing General Agent space preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable interfacing stakeholders at all levels. Ability to create visual representations of complex data/process flows to support user understanding and decision-making. Excellent organizational and time management skills – able to prioritize work effectively and manage multiple work streams.
Eagerness to work collaboratively and comfort working independently. Facilitation skills to run workshops and meetings to gain agreement on requirements and issues. Experience with Agile methodology, JIRA experience preferred.
Additional Job Details This hybrid position is based in Chicago, IL or Frisco, TX, with 2-3 days in office each week. The pay range for this role is: $116,000 – 142,600. This range reflects a good faith estimate of pay at the time of posting.
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, knowledge, education, and internal pay equity.
