Job Description
Job Overview The role is part of European Operations monitoring and processing of Corporate Events for RBC Capital Markets securities trading businesses and their clients. It ensures Corporate Events are captured, reconciled, monitored and funded where required, serving as a first line of defense to trading businesses while providing a seamless client experience. Responsibilities Ensure all daily tasks and controls are completed in line with departmental PRIMA maps and procedures.
Assist the Team Manager and Department Head with projects, process improvements, and new business initiatives. Develop product and market knowledge to reduce operational risk. Escalate any unusual behavior or processing issues following the Operations Escalation Policy.
Locate central RBC policies and keep PRIMA maps and procedures up to date. Investigate processing issues and recommend or implement corrective actions. Share workloads with colleagues during busy periods and respond to client queries within agreed timeframes.
Adhere to mandatory training requirements and suggest additional training as needed. Process assetâservicing activities: balancing and reconciling positions related to mergers, conversions and redemptions; scrubbing announcements; handling mandatory and voluntary actions; processing dividends and interest payments. Manage corporate action events â identification, position validation, and option assignments.
Process incoming and outgoing checks and wires for coupons and dividends. Ensure accurate attestation status assignment within the monthâend timetable and comply with policy. Maintain adherence to the Payment Risk Standing Order and segregationâofâduty requirements.
Maintain regular communication with Front Office Sales and Trading teams, external brokers, and counterparties. Collaborate with internal Operations teams and support functions for seamless operations. Identify and mitigate operational risks, loss events, and control deficiencies.
Qualifications University degree, college diploma, or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience. At least 3 years in a Capital Markets and/or reconciliationâbased role. Strong organizational and timeâmanagement skills.
