Job Description

As a Sales Engineer, you will drive order intake for packaged and engineered systems including raw water treatment (WTP), demineralization (DM), reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), electrodeionization (EDI), sewage treatment (STP), effluent treatment (ETP), zero liquid discharge (ZLD), and desalination (SWRO/MSF). You will be the single point of contact for industrial clients, EPC contractors, and consultants—translating complex process needs into winning proposals and managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to commercial close. Key responsibilities Sales & business development · Identify and target new business in ultra-pure (UPW), process, and wastewater segments; build a robust pipeline of enquiries. · Engage with plant heads, project teams, and purchase departments to understand process challenges and application requirements. · Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and gross margin targets month‑on‑month.

Techno‑commercial proposal & negotiation · Prepare and submit techno‑commercial proposals (including BOQ, cost estimates, delivery terms). · Lead price and commercial negotiations, and coordinate with internal estimation, engineering, and legal teams to finalize contracts. · Stay current with market trends, competitor offerings, pricing, and procurement cycles. Customer & consultant engagement · Build and maintain long‑term relationships with end‑users, consultants, and EPC contractors in the assigned region. · Conduct site visits to assess existing infrastructure, collect samples, and propose condition‑based upgrades, retrofits, or AMC/chemical solutions. Technical support & reporting · Provide pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support to customers and internal teams. · Maintain all customer interactions, quotes, and offers in the CRM system; submit weekly sales reports. · Coordinate with supply chain and service teams to ensure on‑time delivery and smooth project handover.

Qualifications Education · B.E./B.Tech in Chemical / Mechanical / Environmental Engineering, or M.Sc. in Chemistry. · MBA in Marketing is an added advantage. Experience (3–8 years) · Proven track record in B2B sales of industrial water / wastewater treatment systems or capital equipment. · Hands‑on experience with at least 3–4 of the following technologies: – Membrane processes (RO, UF, EDI, NF) – Ion exchange / DM plants – Conventional treatment (clarifiers, filters, softeners) – Biological treatment / MBBR / MBR – ZLD / evaporators / crystallizers – Desalination (SWRO / MSF) · Experience handling government and institutional sales is a plus. Skills & competencies Technical Soft / Commercial Process flow understanding (PFD, P&ID) Strong verbal and written communication Ability to size/prequalify systems Negotiation and presentation skills Knowledge of IS, EPA, and local discharge standards Problem‑solving and customer‑centric approach Familiarity with pump curves, materials selection, and O&M costs Ability to work independently and under pressure Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools Willingness to travel up to 50–60% of the time Key performance indicators · Order booking vs. target (INR value) · Number of new customers / repeat orders · Proposal-to-order conversion rate · Enquiry generation and pipeline coverage · Days from lead to letter of intent (LOI) Work environment & travel The role is customer‑facing and field‑based.

Regular travel within the territory is required; frequently pan‑India travel for client meetings or industry exhibitions may be needed. You will work in a hybrid mode (home office, customer sites, and company office) with field‑work hours suitable to meet project deadlines.
