Reliability Engineer Intern Location: Brampton, ON Job type: Full time IKO Industries Ltd. is a market leader in the manufacturing of roofing and building materials. Responsibilities Utilize knowledge of Millwrights and Electricians to complete PM (Preventive Maintenance) optimizations and develop new “walking” PMs. With Reliability Engineers’ guidance, work with Production and Maintenance to develop PM strategies for assets, Document Navigation Accelerator (linked drawings), spare‑part lists, job plans and PMs for our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Daily – coordinate the completion of safety‑related work orders, gather PM completion data, and work with the Maintenance Planner to plan/schedule follow‑up work orders.

Standardize and build spare‑parts lists for equipment by reviewing drawings and documentation, conducting physical line walk‑downs, and contacting vendors. Accurately identify and add assembly/component drawings and P&IDs to the in‑house Document Navigation Accelerator (DNA) system. Assist the Reliability Engineer with collecting evidence and data during Root‑Cause Analysis investigations.

Document asset information to update existing drawings and spare parts in the CMMS. Assist in building Reliability & Maintenance reports and dashboards. Develop and update SOPs and SWIs.

Become the go‑to employee to support Millwrights and Electricians with CMMS issues and training, and to train and provide tips on the DNA system. Qualifications Recent graduate from an Engineering program specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering. Desire to become a key player on the team, build relationships across departments, and recognize when urgency is required.

Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment/components such as conveyors, elevators, pumps, motors, gearboxes, couplings, bearings, belts, etc. Ability to read blueprints, measure components, and create hand sketches and basic drawings. Can work autonomously, manages time effectively, estimates job‑task times accurately, and knows when to ask questions.

Proficiency in MS Excel (look‑ups, pivot tables) and Word. Knowledge of a CMMS is an advantage. Critical‑thinking skills and a high degree of organization are a must.

Fluent in English (spoken and written). Expresses interest in working in a high‑speed production facility with many complex processes and technologies. Is not concerned with working in dusty, dirty, and loud environments.
