Downtown Toronto (Ryerson), Canada | Posted on 05/22/2026 The Automation Developer is responsible for identifyingopportunities to improve quality assurance through automation and fordesigning, developing, and executing automated tests that validate applicationfunctionality. This role works closely with QA analysts, developers,architects, and product owners to ensure high‑quality, reliable softwaredelivery in complex enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities Identifyopportunities for automation within software development and testingprocesses.

Design,develop, and execute automated QA tests using scripts that validateapplication functionality. Design,develop, and maintain test automation scripts and frameworks. Utiliseenterprise test automation and performance testing tools.

Workcollaboratively with QA analysts, software developers, architects, andproduct owners to resolve quality issues. Reviewand continuously improve test automation approaches, standards, and bestpractices. Analyzetesting and DevOps processes and recommend improvements.

Providetechnical support for test automation tools. Participatein sprint retrospectives to identify QA improvement opportunities. Evaluateautomation tools and processes and provide recommendations aligned withbest practices.

Translatefunctional, business, and system requirements into effective test planningand execution. Createtest data, analyze results, perform re‑testing, and support useracceptance activities. Ensureautomated testing assets are documented, source‑controlled, and supportedby disaster recovery practices.

Qualifications Public Sector Experience 5+years of experience working with federal, provincial, or broader public‑sectorenvironments. Knowledgeof public‑sector enterprise architecture artifacts, methodologies, andgovernance processes. QA, Automation & Testing Experience 7+years of experience in QA and test automation.

Strongexperience designing, developing, and executing automated tests. Experiencewith automation frameworks and performance testing tools. Experiencetesting COTS solutions, web applications, APIs, integration components,and reporting solutions.

Experiencewith security, performance, accessibility, and BI testing. Abilityto create complete testing documentation including strategies, plans,scripts, and reports. Logging, Tracking & Defect Reporting 7+years of experience identifying, documenting, and tracking defects andrisks.

Experiencemaintaining defect logs, prioritizing test execution, and participating inwalkthroughs and triage sessions. General Skills Proventechnical leadership and continuous improvement mindset. Stronganalytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Excellentcommunication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills. Detail‑oriented,adaptable, and able to meet strict deadlines. Must‑Have Skills Strongexperience identifying automation opportunities.
