Purchase to Pay Analyst – Volkswagen Stockport 6 months Fixed-Term Contract As an Accounts Assistant within our Payments Team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth, accurate, and timely processing of outgoing payments across the business. Life assurance with the option to increase cover We’re open to flexible working options – just ask What you’ll do day to day Prepare, validate, and process sundry payments in line with company policies and internal controls Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date payment records, ensuring clear audit trails at all times Reconcile payment transactions and promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies Respond to urgent or non‑standard payment requests, ensuring correct authorisation and documentation Support finance projects, system updates, and continuous improvement initiatives Liaise with internal departments to investigate and clear payments on account Act as a first point of contact for internal payment‑related queries, providing clear, timely, and professional supportBuild strong working relationships across the business to support smooth financial operations Communicate proactively regarding delays, missing information, or issues affecting payment timelines Assist with month‑end tasks, including reconciliations, journals, and reporting Support the Payments Manager and wider finance team with administrative duties as required Helpful skills and qualifications Don’t worry about ticking off every single skill here – if you care about delivering great experiences as much as we do, we want to hear from you. Previous experience in a finance or payments‑related role (e.g. Accounts Payable, Finance Assistant, Banking) Strong numerical accuracy with excellent attention to detail Confident communication skills with a customer‑focused approach Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines Experience working in a shared service or high‑volume payments environment (desirable) Understanding of internal controls, audit requirements, and financial governance (desirable)Reliable, organised, and proactive, with a calm approach to handling urgent requests A positive, collaborative team player with a solution‑focused mindset We value diversity and believe it strengthens our team.
