Job Description
Salary: £90k‑£95k plus packages, based on experience. About the role We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Project Manager with a background in the education sector to join our Central region team, initially based in Sandbach. This is a full‑time, permanent role.
Duties of the role Understand contract requirements and lead/advise the site team. Ensure the site is presented in a safe and professional manner at all times. Fulfil the role of PC individually where appointed under the Building Safety Act.
Oversee design management to ensure designs meet employer requirements, building regulations, programme targets, and the design responsibility matrix. Ensure construction and installation comply with designs, specifications, building regulations and all relevant standards. Understand all company electronic management systems and software required for the role.
Oversee supply‑chain procurement to select subcontractors based on capability, quality, safety, and value, and to complete procurement in line with the target programme. Prepare and own all contracts and target programmes; produce phasing documents and discuss them confidently with all parties. Comply with Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety policies and good practice in contract run‑through.
Prepare presentation packs and reports for the client and project managers as required. Achieve a good Considerate Constructor's Scheme score; support the B&K CSR manager in meeting project KPIs and related commitments. Perform any other duties related to company or team objectives or individual development.
Key skills and experience required Experience of construction in the education sector. Appropriate academic qualification and sufficient on‑site experience. Knowledge of all aspects of the construction industry.
Maintenance of relevant professional memberships. Effective management skills. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
Experience managing specialist design subcontractors. In‑depth understanding of programme management. Knowledge of CCS requirements.
