Expander Engineering Services Inc. (EESI) is looking to add a Contract position for a Project Engineer/Manager on our fast-growing team! EESI is a small Engineering, Procurement, & Construction Management (EPCM) company that is responsible for executing the technology owned & developed by our parent company, Expander Energy Inc. (EEI) (www.expanderenergy.com). EEI has developed a suite of patented technologies that use biomass and other low carbon intensity energy sources to produce “Fossil Free” Net-Zero Carbon Intensity Renewable Diesel & Jet Fuel.

The experienced Project Engineer/Manager manages key client projects and responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time and within budget & scope. You will oversee all aspects of projects including, but not limited to, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring & summarizing progress of projects.

The successful candidate will collaborate directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and will assist in hiring new team members as needed to fulfill client needs. Project Engineer Job Responsibilities: Coordinates and oversees completion of technical studies and cost estimates.

Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget by organizing and controlling all project elements. Develops detailed project objectives and execution plans by reviewing project proposals and conferring with Project Director and management. Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from vendors and contractors.

Develops and maintains project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements. Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems. Controls project execution plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.

Controls project costs by approving expenditures and assist in administering contractor contracts. Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions. Manage the relationship with the client and relevant stakeholders.

Perform risk management to minimize potential risks. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Use and continually develop leadership skills.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains company reputation by complying with federal and provincial regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned.

As a member of the EESI team, the Project Engineer/Manager Contractor will be able to set your own work schedule as project timelines and deliverables are required. You will be able to balance your work between home & office locations if you prefer, with the preference being in the office as required to sufficiently manage people, activities, and deliverables. Standard work hours are Monday-Friday, 8.5 hours per day, but may be adjusted to accommodate project deadlines, as necessary.
