Job Description
Samvedna Development Society Position: State Coordinator/Program manager โ Employability Skills Locations: Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar (Gujarat) Reporting To: Project Lead / National Programme Manager Contract: 12-month fixed-term (renewable) Salary Package- 40K-50K Month Job Overview The State Coordinator Employability Skills will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of employability skills programmes in government schools. The role requires close coordination with state education departments, teachers, and community stakeholders to strengthen school-to-work transition pathways. The position demands strong programme management capabilities, experience in capacity building, and effective field-level execution.
Key Responsibilities Lead state-level planning and execution of employability skills programmes Coordinate with SCERT, DIET, Samagra Shiksha, and other government stakeholders Design and facilitate teacher trainings and capacity-building workshops Support curriculum adaptation and academic integration within schools Conduct regular field visits for programme monitoring and quality assurance Engage community stakeholders and support awareness initiatives Manage programme data, MIS systems, and reporting requirements Prepare periodic reports, documentation, and impact assessments Support organization of exposure visits and state/national review meetings Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and outcomes Education & Experience Postgraduate degree in Education, Social Work, Development Studies, or related field Minimum 5 years of experience in education or skill development programmes At least 2 years of experience working with government school systems Experience in teacher training, curriculum development, or academic support Hands-on experience in stakeholder or community engagement Proficiency in English and state language (Gujarati for Gujarat) Preferred Qualifications Experience in employability or life skills programmes Exposure to UN or bilateral-funded projects (UNICEF, UNFPA, USAID, etc.) Understanding of industry linkages, WBL, or CSR partnerships Familiarity with MIS and data reporting tools Core Competencies Programme & Project Management Government & Stakeholder Engagement Training & Facilitation Skills Analytical & Reporting Ability Strong Communication Skills Adaptability to rural and semi-urban contexts High ownership and accountability Travel Requirements Extensive field travel (50โ60%) within the state Regular visits to schools, SCERT/DIET offices, and district stakeholders Participation in state and national review meetings Support in organizing student exposure visits Samvedna Development Society is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from qualified candidates across diverse backgrounds.
