Job Description
Houston, TX (On-Site) $160,000 - $180,000 + performance-based bonus A Houston-based electrical contractor is scaling a dedicated manufacturing division focused on power distribution, panels, switchgear, and engineered skids for hyperscale and mission-critical data center clients. Iβm seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to help build and lead procurement operations during this rapid growth phase. This is not a greenfield concept.
The business already operates an 80,000 sq ft manufacturing facility and is currently delivering a new 200,000 sq ft facility in Houston. Once fully operational, the manufacturing organization will support 100+ employees across engineering, estimating, procurement, and production. This role will be central to establishing a scalable, standardized, repeatable procurement model suitable for high-volume hyperscale manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities: β’ Lead procurement strategy for electrical components, materials, and equipment supporting manufacturing operations β’ Establish supplier relationships aligned with hyperscale data center standards (panels, switchgear, busway, breakers, enclosures, etc.) β’ Develop and manage sourcing strategies for long-lead and critical-path materials β’ Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and service-level agreements with manufacturers and vendors β’ Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Estimating, and Operations teams to support production schedules β’ Implement procurement processes that support standardized, repeatable builds at scale β’ Manage inventory strategy, material flow, and supply chain risk for high-volume production β’ Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, lead time, and supply chain variability β’ Build and grow a procurement function as the manufacturing arm scales What Weβre Looking For: β’ Proven experience in procurement or supply chain leadership within electrical manufacturing or construction β’ Strong knowledge of power distribution equipment, switchgear, panels, and mission-critical infrastructure β’ Experience supporting manufacturing environments (preferred over purely project-based procurement) β’ Background working with hyperscale or data center clients is highly desirable β’ Ability to manage vendor relationships in a high-demand, schedule-driven environment β’ Strong negotiation, planning, and cross-functional communication skills β’ Comfortable building processes and systems in a fast-scaling organization The Opportunity: β’ Leadership role within a rapidly scaling manufacturing operation β’ Direct exposure to hyperscale data center programs. β’ Influence over procurement strategy, vendor selection, and process design β’ Long-term growth into senior supply chain or operations leadership β’ Backed by a financially strong electrical contractor with secured demand
