Position: • Modality: Nurse Practitioner Pediatric (CPNP AC) • Location: San Francisco, California • Setting: Inpatient Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU) • Schedule: 3 shifts per week • Shift Length: 12 hours (7:00 AM 7:00 PM) • Coverage Expectations: Must be available for days, nights, weekends, and holidays Required to provide at least 50% night or weekend coverage Night/weekend call opportunities may be available but are not guaranteed • Hours per Week: 36 • Credentialing Timeline: days Clinical Environment & Scope: • Patient Volume: patients per day • Unit Size: 18 beds (including 8 neonatal beds ) • Patient Population: Primarily pediatric and neonatal patients 8% adult congenital population • Case Mix: Pediatric cardiovascular critical care Pre and post operative surgical patients Heart failure patients ECMO, CRRT, ventilated patients Pre/post cardiac catheterization Pre/post heart transplant patients • Annual Volume: 350 surgical cases per year • Procedures: APPs may place IVs and arterial lines May assist with intubations or central lines Most procedures performed by fellows or attendings • Staffing Model: Day teams: 1 attending, 3 NPs, 1 fellow per team (2 teams total) Overnight: 1 attending and 2 NPs • EMR: Epic • Interview Process: Virtual interview Requirements: • Board Certified CPNP AC required • Active California NP license required • Active California DEA (Schedule II) • Certifications: BLS and PALS • Minimum 1 year of inpatient PCICU experience Must be true pediatric cardiovascular critical care No stepdown or non cardiac ICU experience accepted • Strong clinical knowledge in pediatric cardiovascular critical care • Experience managing ECMO, CRRT, and complex cardiac patients preferred • Must be comfortable caring for neonates through adult congenital patients • Team oriented, adaptable, and willing to work nights and weekends Compensation: • Pay: Discussed by phone only • Weekly paychecks • Malpractice insurance covered 100% • Benefits available
