Ward B5 is a 33-bed unit specializing in the healthcare of older people. We provide compassionate, patient-centered care for patients with complex physical, mental health, and social needs. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to deliver high-quality care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Band 6 Nurse Team Leader to support the Ward Manager in the operational and clinical leadership of Ward B5. This role combines senior clinical responsibilities with team leadership, ensuring the smooth running of the ward and high standards of patient care. The successful candidate will help drive a positive, supportive, and professional culture on the ward Main duties of the job Support the Ward Manager in leading and managing ward nursing staff, including supervision, appraisal, and mentorship.
Oversee daily ward operations, staffing, and patient flow in collaboration with the Ward Manager. Ensure safe, effective, and person-centered care for all patients. Promote a culture of continuous professional development, learning, and quality improvement.
Support the education and training of nursing staff, including identifying learning needs and facilitating access to training opportunities. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement care plans and discharge processes. Assist in clinical governance, policy adherence, and the development of ward protocols.
Lead and participate in clinical audits to monitor compliance with policies, standards, and best practice, and support quality improvement initiatives. Act as a role model for professional standards and compassionate care.
