Position Overview BTI is seeking a senior Network Manager to serve as the primary technical authority for the architecture, performance, reliability, and security posture of all networkMaryland⢠infrastructure components.
This individual will lead all network engineering activities â from backbone architecture design through production deployment, optimization, and technology modernization â across a complex, multi-site statewide government network environment. This position is OnâSite in Greater Annapolis/Crownsville MD. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary technical authority for all networkMaryland⢠architecture and engineering activities Lead the development of backbone routing designs including OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and EVPN architectures Oversee all network solution deployments â ensuring compliance with technical specifications and change management requirements Direct proactive maintenance, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization activities Supervise and mentor all FA1 engineering personnel Serve as Tier 3 escalation authority for highâimpact and technically complex network incidents Enforce all network security policies and compliance requirements Produce all required engineering deliverables including Network Architecture Diagrams, Implementation Plans, and Strategic Project Summaries Commitment Level: Fullâtime dedicated resource with 24x7x365 availability for Priority 1 and Major Incident escalations; available onâsite upon DoIT request.
Required Qualifications â Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a directly related discipline from an accredited institution â Current, active seniorâlevel network engineering certification at the CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent expert level â Minimum ten (10) years of experience designing, implementing, and managing complex, multiâsite network infrastructures for government or large enterprise clients â Demonstrated experience with large backbone network environments and fiber infrastructure supporting hundreds of locations â Proven, productionâlevel expertise in OSPF, BGP, MPLS, EVPN, DWDM/CWDM, and SDâWAN technologies â Experience leading network engineering teams and serving as a Tier 3 escalation authority for complex network incidents Must be able to obtain and maintain Maryland CJIS clearance Preferred Qualifications Direct experience designing and implementing MPLS/EVPN backbone architectures on statewide government networks Experience with Palo Alto firewall policy management and Panorama administration Familiarity with IPv6 implementation planning and security segmentation design Experience with SDâWAN deployment and integration within MPLS backbone environments Knowledge of OSP/ISP fiber network engineering and DWDM/CWDM optical transport systems #J-18808-Ljbffr
