Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Work Arrangement: remote or hybrid based on candidate location Department: Sales & Business Development Reports To: CEO Salary: $180,000-$220,000 About The Role Bask & Lather is seeking an experienced and visionary National Sales Director to spearhead our retail and distributor expansion strategy across the United States, Canada, and select international markets. As we enter our next stage of growth, this role will be instrumental in scaling our beauty supply distribution, executing flawless national retail launches, and driving global expansion. The ideal candidate brings proven success in managing sales teams, securing distribution across major national retailers, and leading highâperforming distributor partnerships.
You will leverage your expertise to maximize reorder rates, accelerate international growth, and ensure that Bask & Lather products achieve sustainable success on shelf. Key Responsibilities Secure and grow relationships with key U.S. national retail partners (e.g., Walmart, Target, Ulta, CVS, Walgreens). Oversee planogram submissions, category reviews, and promotional calendars, ensuring 95%+ compliance with retailer requirements.
Lead new product launches and resets with onâtime, compliant execution, ensuring strong sellâthrough velocity. Strengthen relationships with national and regional distributors to expand Bask & Lather across the 9,000+ U.S. beauty supply stores. Develop sales programs, training, and merchandising strategies to increase reorder rates and maximize sellâthrough performance.
Partner with brokers and field teams to support distributor sellâin and retail support. Lead the Canadian and Caribbean market entry strategy, establishing new distributor partnerships and retail penetration. Identify and prioritize additional international markets for future expansion.
Oversee compliance, logistics, and local market execution to ensure smooth launches. Lead, mentor, and build a highâperforming sales organization. Own sales forecasts, KPIs, and reporting for U.S., Canada, and global markets.
Negotiate trade terms, contracts, and pricing strategies to drive profitable growth. Analyze syndicated data (Nielsen, Circana, IRI) and market insights to optimize channel strategy and assortment planning. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive sales leadership in CPG, beauty, or personal care.
Proven success managing distributor and retail partnerships in the U.S. and international markets. Experience scaling brands across beauty supply, mass, drug, and specialty channels. Demonstrated ability to execute major retail launches with excellence.
Strong negotiation, relationshipâbuilding, and communication skills. Track record of improving reorder rates and sellâthrough velocity. Dataâdriven mindset with experience leveraging syndicated data tools.
